Breve transfondo:
Los padres, staff, estudiantes, familares y la comunidad de la Blue Mountain School en Oregon, E.E.U.U.A. llevan una batalla legal para mantener abierta la escuela, una escuela Sudbury que actualmente es “la única escuela libre financiada con fondos públicos en EE.UU.”

A julio 2008, la corte dictaminaría el resultado de la disputa del contrato, el Distrito Escolar terminará o no-terminará su contrato con la escuela antes de lo estipulado.

Hice mía la interrogante de Raulm60. Mi curiosidad por respuestas se activó, y me puse mi sombrero de investigadora. Los puntos a investigar,  1) el resultado del caso legal de la Blue Mountain School, y 2) si la escuela abrió en septiembre 2008.

Me aventuré en el mundo cibernético en busca de información reciente….
Google.com > Advance search > Date: (how recent the page is) > Past month > “Blue Mountain School”. Pocos fueron los resultados, algunos de ellos me ofrecieron respuestas a la pregunta de “qué sucedió finalmente…”

Los hallazgos:

1. La corte decidió que el distrito honre el actual contrato.
2. La escuela podrá continuar el semestre de septiembre 2008.
3. En septiembre de 2008, la escuela inició el segundo semestre, honrando su parte del contrato.
4. La escuela sigue trabajando para la renovación de un nuevo periodo de contrato de 2 años.
5. El 14 de septiembre de 2008, la escuela en su boletín mensual publicó fotos del primer día de clases y un artículo sobre el asunto.
6. Todo apoyo a la causa está bienvenidos -cartas, dinero, recurso profesional.

Es mi sentir que apoyar a Blue Mountain School, una escuela Sudbury, actualmente “la única escuela libre financiada con fondos públicos en EE.UU.“, es una responsabilidad democrática participativa.

Mi proceso durante la investigación… curiosamente leer, concientemente analizar, responsablemente decidir y ¡libremente tomar acción!
Pregunto,

¿estará el sistema educativo actual preparado para evaluar estas destrezas más allá de los parámetros tradicionales?
